Traveling is a natural elixir to anyone with a curious nature.
When it comes to cities around the world, I have rarely missed its
market places. It is here one finds the people who work with the
land and their oceans. They cultivate; they work on the oceans to
bring us our food, which we too often take for granted. Frequently,
I have seen in their faces and hands the change of seasons. I am
attracted to these men and woman, whose whole being is characteristic
of their environment.
You find the
soul of a city in its market place. Indeed, while making the film
'Out They Go', which was a celebration of Sydney's old Paddy's Market,
I felt the living spirit of a 'Breugel' painting was characterised
by such a place. People it is said, are like the company they keep
and a working market place is to my mind an industrious celebration
of life. >>>>
